Assemblyman Louis D. Greenwald has
represented the sixth legislative district since 1996. During the
210th Legislative Session, Assemblyman Greenwald is serving as the
Chairman of the Duget Committee and member of the Appropriations
Committee, Chairman of the Joint Budget Oversight Committee, as well
as serving on the World War II Veterans’ Memorial Advisory
Commission, Reapportionment Commission and the Department of Banking
and Insurance Commission. He has served as Assistant Minority Leader,
and has been a member of the State Government Committee and the
Commerce, Tourism, Gaming, and Military and Veterans Affairs
Committees.
Assemblyman Greenwald was born in Mount
Holly, NJ. He graduated from Moravian College in 1989 and eared his
law degree from Seton Hall University in 1992- the same year he was
admitted to the bar in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Assemblyman
serves as the in-house counsel for Remington and Vernick Engineers of
Haddonfield, and remains of-counsel at the law firm of Speziali,
Greenwald and Hawkins, a firm he started in 1995.
Currently, Assemblyman Greenwald is a
member of the Camden County Bar Association, Camden County Democrat
Committee, and Camden County Traffic Safety Task Force Committees. He
is a member of the CEO/Executive Advisory Board for the Southern New
Jersey Boy Scouts and the Camden County Senior Advisory Council.
Greenwald has been honored and
recognized for his accomplishments and dedication to public service by
the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce with its Pinnacle Award
for Legislator of the year. The Southern New Jersey Jaycee’s named
him as one of the Ten Outstanding Young People in the state. He has
also been honored by the American Diabetes and the Epilepsy
Foundations as one of the state’s finest government leaders. In the
spring of 2003 he was honored by the Cherry Hill Sons of Italy as
their Person of the Year, and by the South Jersey Cultural Alliance
with their Standing Ovation Award, as well as the Delaware Valley
Regional Planning Commission as the region’s “New Jersey Elected
Official of the Year”.
The
Assemblyman lives in Voorhees with his wife Cynthia Ingraldi Greenwald
and three children. |
